Rotary Sunset Club of Boquete

At the Rotary Sunset Club of Boquete, we’re dedicated to making a difference in our community. Through meaningful service projects, we aim to address local needs, foster growth, and build lasting friendships, all while promoting goodwill and peace.

We’re passionate about improving opportunities and the quality of life in Boquete and the surrounding areas. Here’s a glimpse of some of the projects we’re proud to support:

The Diversified Vocational Academy

A first-of-its-kind trade school located in Potrerillos, this non-profit academy offers specialized vocational training.

• Currently, the school provides electrical apprenticeship programs and has plans to expand into plumbing and mechanical training.

• The academy was created and is supported by our club and its members.

RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards)

Each year, our club sponsors 1–2 students to attend RYLA, a weeklong leadership camp for young people aged 14–25. Participants engage in workshops, presentations, and activities to:

• Build communication and problem-solving skills.

• Discover leadership strategies to impact their schools and communities.

• Learn from inspirational speakers and mentors.

• Unlock their potential and turn motivation into action.

It’s also a lot of fun, and participants form lifelong friendships along the way!

Community Impact Projects

Jaramillo Arriba School Septic Tank Replacement (2023)
We funded and organized the replacement of a leaking septic tank at Jaramillo Arriba School, ensuring a safer and healthier environment for students.

School Painting Project
In collaboration with our local Interact Club, we painted the interiors of 12 classrooms at Benigno Tomas Argote High School, creating a brighter space for learning.

Bookcases for Education
We built and donated 25 bookcases for the Amigos de Animales Education Outreach Program. These bookcases now enhance schools across Boquete, supporting their “Book Corners” initiative.

Hogar Trisker Christmas Party
With inspiration from our Interact Club, we helped organize a heartwarming Christmas party for the children of Hogar Trisker. Our club provided financial support and plenty of delicious treats, making it a magical day for everyone involved.
